Welcome to the YO Social Club's 2009 Website
This year's party date is September 12th!
The YO Social Club (YOSC) was established in 1980 and is currently operating as a 501 (c)(3) corporation. The primary purpose of the organization is the preservation of Texas Hill Country Heritage. The YOSC's activities are managed and executed through its voluntary Board of Directors and various other volunteers. The main benefit received by YOSC members is the privlege of attending of an annual event held at the historic YO Ranch in Mountain Home, Texas. The theme of each year's event is distinctly different with respect to decor, entertainment, food and refreshments. The unifying element is that each event is definitely a tribute to our western heritage.
In 1980 Charles Schreiner III (Charlie III), grandson of the ranch founder Captain Charles Schreiner, decided to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the YO Ranch. He invited a few hundred of this closest friends to attend a party at YO Ranch to celebrate and acknowledge the importance of the Texas Hill Country. The first party was in May. Not only did everyone have a great time, but it snowed! The party was such a hit and topic of conversation that Charlie III decided it should become an annual social event - now known as the YO Social Club.
SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT THIS YEAR'S PARTY:
As you may (or may not) know, the main pavilion at the YO Ranch headquarters and a couple of adjacent historic cabins burned to the ground a few months ago. Because of the fire, the primary entertainment and focus of this year's party will be centered around the ranch's beautiful pool and wildlife overlook area across the road from the main lodge. Attendance will be limited to several hundred people instead of the thousands that normally attend.
That's why this year's Party Theme is "Burning Memories" (celebrating the history and all the fond memories of past parties at the YO).
